Gratitude - a practice or a feeling!

Recently I have started reading a book " Bhagavad-gita As It Is ". Not that I have not read Gita earlier, I have been listening to it since my childhood. In those days, my grandmother used to recite it every day, and she would do it in a loud manner, stating that when I do this, the last thing would be you guys will hear at least something of it, if not the entire thing. So, every day when she would recite, she would sit at a place from where everyone could hear her. In short, we all have heard Gita mostly that way only. Folks who do not know what book am referring to can check this link .  You might be thinking why have a started reading it now? Well, I always wanted to read it (though I have read the shorter version of it earlier, this one is an elaborated one), and I was unable to finish the regular genre that I read, hence I started with something like this!  While reading, and of course have been watching similar stuff one thing I came across the most was "Gratitude...

Is one day enough to celebrate Mothers?

Writing was, is, and will always be the best way for getting my head clear. Still, there are times when there are too many thoughts going around in my head and am unable to write them down. In other words, writing is like a meditation, that helps me keep myself sane. Someone may say, then I should write every day, well yes I do, just not everything is posted here. Only some of my writings are posted here, the rest I either write and send to my Angel,  while others are deleted after writing. And yes in some cases, I just write things mentally, and chuck it off! Alright, i know you would say she is a nut case! :P  Today happens to be Mother's Day, for which more than half of the world is going crazy. It is one day that I feel is more like a marketing gimmick or a joke for the most special relationship anyone can ever have. I could never fathom that celebrating one day can justify the gratitude we all should have for our whole life? Shouldn't a mother or a parent be celebra...

As Mad As A March Hare!

Ohh yeah!! It is already a month since i have visited this place!  Things have been crazy at my end, settling into a new place, new job and an altogether new industry to work with is definitely driving me nuts. Well some of you might say, that i am already one, but I guess you can imagine what kind of madness it would be, if am saying so. On the hindsight, it has been an enthralling experience,  and has captivated me to the core.  Starting a new life from scratch, meeting new people, making new friends (well really friends? may be too early to say so :) ) and once again new learnings on how to deal with people without being socially awkward. It's been a good learning curve for me. Although i think am still at a nascent stage of the curve and there is a long way to go! Keeping fingers crossed, and hope i don't go back to the shell. And if at all that happens, this time, My Angel would not spare me.  Having said that, though it was as mad as March hare, hope the ...

An Ordered Chaos!

The state of transitioning is probably the best and at the same time most chaotic state, so many things are ongoing, every single entity or thing involved has certain variables attached to it, and thanks to those variables the number of possible outcomes becomes high! Things are a little difficult at the start, difficulties reach their peek in terms of levels and dimensions, this is where the chaos is at its highest level, each and every entity having the maximum entropy (entropy is a thermodynamics concept, defining the degree of disorder), and then there comes a downfall in disorder, and things start falling into place, leading to a state of Negentropy or a state of complete order, like a solar system!  We all strive for the state of negentropy,  a place everything is defined, chaos is almost non-existent, at the same time, we also forget that the negentropy will eventually lead to dullness, and make everything mechanical, effectively loosing the essence of life. Still...

Quest for a foothold

First thing, i know i have been neglecting this place for a long time. Of course, there is no excuse, i was just focusing more on other things and not on writing here. My creative juices were though content, as i was writing stuff for a few events, have been writing scripts for musical plays.  All said, i have been using my time in the sabbatical, to explore a new line of work. Yes, i took the suggestion from my fellow blogger seriously, and started doing Event Management. Though on a small scale and only for family and friends.  Did three events in last few months, and have a list of learnings! Phew, i realized i can venture into this, though making a living out of it would still be a far fetched dream. Having said that, it was a good way to address the creative bug which has been there inside me.  Well, my break is over now. I have joined a new firm, in a new city, in an entirely new industry! In short, this next step, is like starting from scratch. House hunting, findi...

"You're not stagnating, you're cocooning"

"You're not stagnating, you're cocooning".  This is surely the most impressive line i have read lately. An excerpt of what i read goes as follows:  "Butterflies do not just pop up out of thin air. They emerge after a period of cocooning. Cocoons are not glamourous. They are not always something to post about. People don't celebrate them and venerate them. But they love a butterfly. You're not stagnating, you're cocooning." Cocooning by definition, is practice of spending leisure time at home in preference to going out, insulating from perceived danger. This term was coined by Faith Popcorn, a trend forecaster and marketing consultant.  Though the term was coined in 1981, it seems way too relevant in today's world. In the times of  information everywhere, too much of exposure, cocooning comes handy. For me, it is more of doing nothing.  One of the reasons why i wanted to take a break, was to do nothing for sometime. Living a life with no dail...

An year of Retirement!

Sep 2022!  This month year would be etched in the history of sports forever! The two GOATS decided to hang their boots from the respective fields. Guess truly can be called the month of retirement, first The Roger Federer and then The Jhulan Goswami! I think everyone already knows Roger, there might be a few who do not know Jhulan. She is the GOAT of Indian Women's Cricket. Been there, representing the country, and a living legend for past 20 years, against 22 years of Roger.   I couldn't watch the last game of Federer, hence, ensured to watch the last series, last match and the final overs of Jhulan today. Wow! what a match and what a feeling it was. A mix bag of feelings, India wining series in England with a clean sweep, with legend bowling for the last time in blue jersey. A perfect way to spend an otherwise dull week.  On personal side, am still struggling with health. Scheduled an appointment with my next doc. This would be the 17th doctor i will be meeting for...
