What's your attachment style?

It has been 5 months, since I moved to this new city, with a new job. In these few months, met a lot of new people, colleagues, acquaintances, met old friends, who have introduced me to their new friends, thereby new set of people to mingle with!  Some of them have already moved out also, while a few others consider themselves attached to me, which surprised me. I was astonished knowing people were actually considering me a part of their group or life if i can say that, sharing a slice of their life. For me, it wasn't new, as I have been on the receiving end like this for many years now, but every time someone did this, I wondered when can I ever be on the other side, like sharing a piece of my life with these new friends in life! Somehow, it doesn't come naturally to me. It is weird, right? The way I live my life as an open book, usually wearing my heart on my sleeves, it is practically impossible for me to pretend anything, still, i don't find it comfortable to share life...

Gratitude - a practice or a feeling!

Recently I have started reading a book " Bhagavad-gita As It Is ". Not that I have not read Gita earlier, I have been listening to it since my childhood. In those days, my grandmother used to recite it every day, and she would do it in a loud manner, stating that when I do this, the last thing would be you guys will hear at least something of it, if not the entire thing. So, every day when she would recite, she would sit at a place from where everyone could hear her. In short, we all have heard Gita mostly that way only. Folks who do not know what book am referring to can check this link .  You might be thinking why have a started reading it now? Well, I always wanted to read it (though I have read the shorter version of it earlier, this one is an elaborated one), and I was unable to finish the regular genre that I read, hence I started with something like this!  While reading, and of course have been watching similar stuff one thing I came across the most was "Gratitude...

Off to another world!

After more than 2 years, am back with my travel wings. It took a while to break off the shackles, but here I am again, with my wings wide spread, and ready to take that leap of faith. Or may be  I have already taken that, by putting papers. Oh yes, I am moving on for good, and a lot around can not fathom it. They call it crazy, and yeah I do agree, as am crazy, as am late to this party. It would have been the best if I was the one hosting this! Nevertheless, as they say, its never too late, and everything happens at its own time. Coming to what next, well, right now am on a flight. You know utilising the boring inflight time, to pen down the thoughts or may be clear up some space in the tiny brain of mine. Hope i get to do so, by adding some more boarding passes to the bag.

The Golden Touch!

An almost invisible thing has brought the world to a standstill. Not just for a second or a minute, for a considerable time in life, that actually gave a breather to almost every one of us, to go back to our priorities in life, and get them straight.  Of course, has been difficult for many of us, health-wise, financially, emotionally; has knocked down a lot, forced many to change the way of life or their viewpoint for the life, and has definitely made all of us stronger.  Just hope that this comes out to be a blessing in disguise, in the long term for everyone. As they say, tough times don't last, but tough people do!  Before testing positive for Covid (oh yes, I got this, and thankfully got over too), I did believe that everyone needs a Golden touch in life, or rather everyone has that Golden touch in life, that makes everything straight. Really wished the world too gets it and gets to a new normal, which is more humane and natural. And now after going through this...

Quarantine thoughts!

Every one of us evolves every minute based on what has happened around us, and how do we react to the happenings. It is said, that this rate of evolution decreases with age, ie kids evolve much faster than the adults, which is quite visible too in terms of physical evolution. But if we compare among the adults, the rate of this evolution or some people may call it maturing, is very different from person to person.  There are people who mature much faster than others, and then there are a few who mature overnight! Comparison is something that we can't help without, and especially for people like me, who always crave for data. Hence, i will take the privilege to compare this maturity level based on my experience and observations.  We can always classify people in following broad categories : a) Who learn just by reading about strangers (ie learn by the books) b) Who learn by observing the surroundings c) Who learn only on the job ie only once they commit a mistake they will lear...

An escape

What to do when all you need is an escape from the world? I mean the "world" and not just the people around you or the workplace! While seated in the room, with a french window spanning over the beautiful view of CST, in the dim light of those yellow fairy lights, with Coke studio playing in the background, eating french fries and drinking Coke, i still wonder what could be a better hideout? Somehow i was successful in minimizing the human interactions to phone (family calls, you know), and a couple of interactions with the food delivery guy, wondering was it enough? With an overexciting year coming to end, a year filled with all sorts of possible social events, and outings, am, still looking for that one weekend where I could be with only myself! Last week, around Christmas, met a friend, who suggested to take a week off, while i was cribbing about "I need a shut down". For a moment, i thought she just spoke my mind, when she explained, a week off from everyon...

This time of year!

It seems like ages that I wrote something, except for business emails or official documents. Ahh, was it really the busyness or was I trying to escape from writing something, since now a lot of people have access to this place? As usual, I don't have an answer to these questions. It's that time of year, for which I used to wish that the calendar skips a couple of days, alas that doesn't happen. I always wondered why am I the way I am. When people count days to their birthday, I just wish the calendar to skip this one day, or just want the day to pass by as normal as it can. And in order to avoid anything and everything, had started taking trips around my birthday. And as always, have so many sweet people and friends around me, who want to make it a special for me. People whom it's difficult to say no to, not because they are like that, but, yeah the yes will bring that smile on their faces.  I could never figure out the reason behind these things. Or is that thi...

Web of life

Image
A few months back, i went on a trip to hill side. There were two motives behind the trip a) Spend quality time with nature b) Social media detox On the trip, in the lap of nature, casually clicked a pic At that moment, with nothing in mind, i captioned this as " Web of life "; hardly i knew anything that this will actually become essence of moment few months down the line.  Today, life has become so complicated, if every relation is considered to be a string of the web, then everything gets linked with other. So if we try to pull one string, then other one automatically gets strained. Tension in one will induce tension in other strings! Which effectively means, you can not sort out one at a time. You have to work upon all simultaneously, else otherwise you have to keep a close check on every string which is for sure demanding stuff.  Sometimes, being connected with everything is awesome; while in strained situation, its definitely one of the worst thing...

When going gets tough, tough gets going!

Read some where, " God gives the toughest battles to the best of his soldiers " and this single line definitely was a morale boost for someone like me when i was going thru the worst.  While i was going thru a constant battle between love and self respect; battle between social stigma and individual space; between being selfless and selfish; or maybe between being happy and being content; this simple yet strong thought gave me strength to become selfish enough to save Self respect and individuality and stand alone, fight for the correct than succumbing to the stupid social stigma of loosing self respect in the name of being loved! It was definitely one of the most encouraging thoughts that caught my attention even in the state of despair and acute depression. And helped me to regain the lost confidence and bounce back with an impact! Today, when i look back on the journey, feel proud of myself, though still not sure how did i get through all; but yes, learnt the most imp...
