Take a pause!
One of the most irritating things I have felt is when you are driving on an empty road, and suddenly you need to apply brakes and stop for a while. That's the moment we desperately want to get over!
These days, we are at a similar place, everyone had their life going on its pace, and suddenly an invisible thing has brought the entire world to a standstill. Not just it has stopped the world, it has also inspired we humans to become humans again, feel human again, and nature has shown us our place. We always thought we are the best and the most advanced species in this world, and today, the tiniest of the creature has confined the entire humanity across the world. Till a few months back, we were busy planning our trips, and today all we do is plan our meals in the coming week or for some plan for the next meal. This tiniest of life has made us nothing in front of it. Today, we are like caged, and nature and animals are for sure laughing at us, for showing us our place. The speed at which Nature has healed itself in the last few weeks, it has proved that humans are the most useless and selfish creatures on this planet.
We never bother about other species, in fact, we never even bother about the other human beings. All we are concerned is our own well being or our closed ones well being. Sometimes, I wonder, that what would be the animals and birds roaming out there would be thinking of us, caged in our houses, and living with constant fear. Do they really pity us or they make fun of us like we used to do while visiting a Zoo or some underwater park?
Still, no doubt we are the most adaptable species, (actually one of them), that we got our ways out of this era of pandemic and fear, and are still connected with our near and dear ones, despite being miles away physically. Thankfully, humans have developed technology to the extent that you can still see and hear the people you love and care for despite being on a house arrest.
Someone truly said, "Tough times bring people together" and for a change, the people out there are bothered about each other, of course with a few exceptions. Nature has its own way to teach us, the lessons we have forgotten in the long race of being the most advanced and the best. And one of the most important lessons it has taught us is
"Humans are the most useless creature on this planet, and this planet can do much better in the absence of humans than it is doing now"
Can we humans ever learn this? or we will just find our own way out, and neglect the nature's warning again? I hope we as a race learn, that each and every species is important in the food chain, and excess of anything is hazardous, be it the human population or technology. Nature has always tried to teach us to maintain the balance, while we humans always live in a thought bubble thinking that the scale is on our side.
Take care of everyone and make the most use of this red signal given by nature. Breathe more deeply, hold hands more tightly together, connect with even the ones you don't see/hear in ages, learn things that you always wanted to, do things that were always on your wishlist (except for travelling :P ), make time for yourself to connect and understand yourself better, read a book, learn a new language or musical instrument, or develop taste for new kind of music, develop a new skill, so that by the time you come out of it, you can proudly say, you made the best use of lockdown and can relate to this era as a blessing in disguise while narrating it to your future generations!
Pause a bit, think a bit more, smile a lot, care more, and love the most
I will close this blog with the hope and prayer that we get through these trying times, and come out even stronger, wiser and more connected to nature.
PS: By the way, am loving this new normal in life, I get a lot of time to do stuff which I love, including writing, reading, and discovered a new love. For people who have eye-rolling with this new love thing - it is called "Cooking" :P
Cheers
