Tranquility with Tinyminy!
It has been more than 5 months that i wrote something, and that's true for not only this place but in general, I haven't written anything. Probably the longest i have stayed without writing. And am still sane. Wow, something to be really proud of. Guess the credit goes to two things:
- Another 10 day Vipassana course
- My 9 month old niece. She is a saviour, as these days, most of my time goes to her playful antics.
I did my second "10 day course of Vipassana". While i was looking forward to the peace that noble silence brings, to my surprise, i was asked to do "Seva" when i joined. The seniors or the more experienced people in this field told me, that it is great that i was able to do Seva in my second course itself, however, somewhere i felt like a scapegoat. Nevertheless, the experience was amazing in more than one way!
Though i missed the complete "Noble Silence", (when you do Seva, participants can reach out to you, for any kind of inconvenience and you end up speaking with them), at the same time, I enjoyed helping others, listening to their experiences, and the best, was able to deal with different situations in equanimous way, which I had never done earlier. At times, it feels weird when people look upto you as if you are quite experienced or have achieved something, while you know the ground reality of it and how things just happened on their own.
Icing on the cake was, when i visited my cousin's place post completing the course, I got to hear, "the house felt calmer with your presence"!
On another note, there were new learnings, a few things that just went bouncers, while a few others, i could relate better than last course. Realised, that this is something that helps me feel the peace that i had been looking for so long! Something, that i felt i used to get from writing, it is actually coming from looking inside!
About my niece, she is precious. For this place, let's call her Tinyminy (this was the first name i gave to her, the day she was born; and since then I have been calling her with different names :P)! Tinyminy, has been growing well. Everyday, she does something which we have never seen her doing before. So every day we have a new discovery! These days she is learning to enjoy music, and dance to the beat! She can dance all the way from a dance number to the bhajans that her grandmother sings to the nursery rhymes that her mother plays! :D
Both these experiences, have enhanced my gratitude for life, and have helped me focus on the good side of everything. :)
