Kindness invites kindness

Hellos!!!  Have been crazy busy the last few months with work, work, and some time to rejuvenate to work again! To the extent that I hardly got time to speak with "My Angel"!  But the last couple of days I tried to get steal some time from the day, and spoke with her, only to realize that now she is full of one-liners! While we spoke a few hours back, she got some excellent one-liners in the first few minutes of the call! Not that she was not good at these earlier, she always was good with comebacks, but today she was on a roll! Alas, the call could not last longer, owing to our respective schedules. Am not going to list them down here. However, one was  "Kindness invites kindness".  And it got stuck in my mind.  Usually, we do not think about it, and honestly, if we do something for someone thinking that it would come back to us sometime in the future, then it no longer remains "kindness". It becomes more of a selfish act that is carried out only based on...

A perfect Sunday evening!

For an introvert like me, a perfect Sunday evening is, "Be on your own, no obligation to see or speak to anyone. Chill, while watching something, reading, or just listening to music. I did all these three things today!" And I had one such evening today! After a loooong time.  The last few weeks have been overloaded with too many social engagements, family affairs, and festivities, and hardly getting any "me time" to recharge. I need such peaceful evenings to keep myself sane. I have been out of my place for the past 5 weeks, only came back last week, and thus the first evening in more than 45 days, where I could be just myself.  Well, last month was the birthday month. A few friends had asked me, "What did I wish for this birthday?". I was like, last year I had wished to have a simple meal without pain or painkillers, this year all I wish is a simple day. No show sha, no party. This year it was the exact opposite of what I would have ever wanted. It was a...

Nomad or Asocial?

Another day, another airport, another flight!  When I was on a trip (the one to Andamans), somebody asked me to define what traveling, reading and writing are for me. It left me speechless for a few minutes, as I had never rated them in any order, I loved all three of them. After thinking for some time, I said, "Reading helps me understand people, writing helps me understand my own thoughts and traveling helps me know the world. All three are equally important". And here I am, sitting at an airport and writing this blog while waiting for boarding.  Many of my friends, usually prefer to enjoy the lounges or shop at the airports, and at the same time, I look for a quiet corner with a charging booth, either to read or write something with some exciting music playing on the AirPods. What an introvert I am. Ensuring that no one disturbs me, gives (at least pretends to give) a vibe of a highly intellectual person (which is definitely not true), someone who is beyond worldly af...

Blessed!

As a habit for almost two decades now, whenever I write something, I share it with "My Cute Little Angel" who is neither little nor cute (now she is precious), probably, I should change the name to something else, I had shared my last blog post too. And surprisingly, she didn't share her opinion about it.  So, I directly asked her for the same, and out of all other things, though she struggled to say this, but ended up saying "Why are your blogs so self-obsessed? Why do you keep wondering in all your writings about why people are so interested in you?". I was like "Of course, I am self-obsessed, and probably that's why the blogs are like that!" ( Oh, and our conversations are like that only, so no bad feelings here, we say things transparently to each other whenever we disagree with other, and let me tell you, we rarely agree on anything! Phew )  To cover up, she did mention that she likes this style of writing, given she is also obsessed with me! ...

What's your attachment style?

It has been 5 months, since I moved to this new city, with a new job. In these few months, met a lot of new people, colleagues, acquaintances, met old friends, who have introduced me to their new friends, thereby new set of people to mingle with!  Some of them have already moved out also, while a few others consider themselves attached to me, which surprised me. I was astonished knowing people were actually considering me a part of their group or life if i can say that, sharing a slice of their life. For me, it wasn't new, as I have been on the receiving end like this for many years now, but every time someone did this, I wondered when can I ever be on the other side, like sharing a piece of my life with these new friends in life! Somehow, it doesn't come naturally to me. It is weird, right? The way I live my life as an open book, usually wearing my heart on my sleeves, it is practically impossible for me to pretend anything, still, i don't find it comfortable to share life...

Know Thyself!

The most difficult thing in life is to know yourself!  ~Thales If someone would have asked me today "What is the truth of life?" I would have definitely answered with this quote! This quote may appear to be a paradox, but if we ponder on this, this seems to be the truth of life. How many of us can actually say we know ourselves? Or the ones who claim that they know themselves, mostly have a certain perception of themselves, which they claim to be their understanding of oneself. How true is that?  If I ask you, how much you know yourself, then what is the probability that you will be able to answer that question with self-awareness? Is knowing oneself, and one's habits the same as self-awareness? In my opinion, no. These are two different things. Being self-aware makes you see through yourself in an objective manner, where you can actually decide on what wrongs you have without blaming the situation or anyone in life. It is a way to see through our own actions and be able...

Gratitude - a practice or a feeling!

Recently I have started reading a book " Bhagavad-gita As It Is ". Not that I have not read Gita earlier, I have been listening to it since my childhood. In those days, my grandmother used to recite it every day, and she would do it in a loud manner, stating that when I do this, the last thing would be you guys will hear at least something of it, if not the entire thing. So, every day when she would recite, she would sit at a place from where everyone could hear her. In short, we all have heard Gita mostly that way only. Folks who do not know what book am referring to can check this link .  You might be thinking why have a started reading it now? Well, I always wanted to read it (though I have read the shorter version of it earlier, this one is an elaborated one), and I was unable to finish the regular genre that I read, hence I started with something like this!  While reading, and of course have been watching similar stuff one thing I came across the most was "Gratitude...
